Ryan HAS Hope for CHANGE
Sep 17 2008
Now me, I am up to $135 that I OWE the Obama campaign since the night of the DNC election speech. Ryan, he has HOPE that the Obama team will starting using email more intellegently instead of email intellegence.
Feeling like the news paper boy is chasing me down the block 1-2 times a day looking for $5.00. Time to throttle it back guys and stop being panhandlers.
This election is providing us with so much real time data on the good and bad things we need to consider about our email marketing programs.
The question it continues to leave in my mind is this: IF elected, will Obama continue to use email as a communication vehicle to the citizens of the United States? I would really hope that he would as it would be a great thing for all of us to have a direct communication method to the leader of our country as well as make a statement about the power and acceptance of email.

Dylan,
I seriously think Barack and Michelle have been reading our blog posts. I got an email from Michelle last night that didn’t even ask me for money. I think that’s happened 3 times in the past 3 weeks where the Obama Campaign hasn’t asked me for money (except for the “Donate” button at the bottom of every email, which is built into their email template).
I’m encouraged by this CHANGE because I believe in that sort of thing.
BTW - thank God (or Sergey/Larry - who some might argue are pretty close to God) for Google Alerts so I know when Dylan is writing about eROI (and in this case me).

Ryan:
Very glad that the amount you have donated already has made an impact on them prodding you for cash. Ryan as you know I believe in change too. As well as Chaos from time to time. As Chaos brings though, and thought brings change. Routine does not build change, just expected results with a variation of failure.
Glad to see they are drinking some email change as that should help with the asking strategy. I actually read last night that they raised 66 million last month alone. Wish I could find out the percentage that was online giving and of that which are trackable from email campaigns.
