Rate Me - Validate Me

Jul 28 2008

Well we want you to tell (Us, aka Me) what you think about each post. Now we are not going to ask you to comment, as well that could be a SCARY thing to do on the interWeb. I hear sharing your opinion and social media are just a fad anyway, so why waste your time commenting on a post right? Right.

What we have done to ease you into the process and help you move from Inactive (Lurker) to active (participant) is to give you the ability to RATE each post. Now you can rate one or all of them, but I would just love to see you rate them from time to time. It is a gut check to let me know what to focus on, what to rant about, and more importantly let me know how I am doing.

Yeah I need a little virtual hug and slap in the face from time to time. Keeps me engaged.

So here you go. You have been armed with a mouse that scrolls and clicks. Go forth and rate if you don’t want to comment. The readership is swelling daily and I know you all have opnions of these posts, or you would not be reading.

As always, Dylan, another great idea to further engage and grow your blog.

    ***** of course.

Just a little something to engage the lurkers. I have toyed with the ideas of ratings but wanted to test it first to see what people think about the content. It helps me know how I can better share.

Umm … I like the idea, but am I supposed to rate you based on the blurb or the whole post?

I think the post, right? Right. So let’s move that cute little widget into the actual post man!

This post’s rating just dropped to ****, missed an important bit there on the execution.

Yeah I caught that before I left town for the week. I figured my team is so slammed with so many campaigns and site builds/launched that I would give them a one week break from The Dylan. Trust me it will be done when I get back. Also noticed that the SHARE THIS elements disappeared with the addition of the rating systems.
